Federal & State Income Taxes

Many, if not all, Gaming Commissions require tax clearances from both Federal and State tax offices. If you have never filed income taxes in your current state of residence you will be required to obtain a tax clearance from your previous state. A list of all Department of Revenue offices has been compiled to assist you in achieving that end.

Even though the following list of nine states do not have personal income taxes, their Department of Revenue web sites have been included for the purpose of providing a complete list of all 50 states, Federal and District of Columbia tax sites. If you lived in one of these states before moving to a state with an income tax and the Gaming Commission requires a tax clearance you will have to provide proof of residency for the tax years in question.

  1. Alaska
  2. Florida
  3. Nevada
  4. New Hampshire
  5. South Dakota
  6. Tennessee
  7. Texas
  8. Washington State
  9. Wyoming

Some, but not all, states now have online efiling for personal income taxes. If your state does not permit you to efile, you can obtain the necessary forms for filing the old fashioned way, with paper forms through snail mail.

Driving Directions to Harrah's From Baton Rouge

The best route to Harrah's parking is to exit the Pontchartrain Expressway at Exit 11C Tchoupitoulas St/South Peters St.

When you reach the I-10/Pontchartrain Expressway split be sure to be in the second lane from the left.

The Superdome/Claiborne Ave Exit lane must exit, so do not get in the right lane.

Once past the Superdome/Claiborne Ave Exit the Pontchartrain Expressway becomes two lanes. Stay in the right lane in preparation to take Exit 11C which is Calliope St.

Stay in the left lane in to turn left at Convention Center Blvd.

Stay in the left lane to be ready to take the left turn lane in to Harrah's garage.

Due to construction at Causeway Blvd and I-10 in Metairie it is a good idea to have alternate routes to get to Harrah's New Orleans from Baton Rouge. The map below is the most direct route under ideal conditions.

The routes listed below are in order from the best, most direct route to the worst case scenario, having to exit I-10 at Williams Blvd in Kenner. The Clearview exit is the last exit before Causeway Blvd, where the worst traffic is likely to be.

  1. I-10 - Most Direct Route
  2. I-10 - Clearview to Earhart
  3. I-10 - Williams to Earhart

Also see alternate routes taking I-12 to I-55 to I-10:

  1. I-12 to I-55 Most Direct Route
  2. I-12 to I-55 Clearview to Earhart
  3. I-12 to I-55 Williams to Earhart
